North
The north of Amsterdam is one of the most up and coming areas at the moment. Stroll or cycle along the Nieuwendammerdijk, one of the most beautiful streets of Amsterdam. It is lined by typical Dutch dike houses. There are churches and a small yacht-basin, all of which make it definitely worth a visit.The NDSM wharf, the old site of the Netherlands Shipbuilding and Dock Company, is a new hot spot in Amsterdam. This is a fascinating area to spend some time as it has become a center for underground culture. With spacious workshops for artists and hosting art events and expositions there is always something interesting going on.

One of our favorites is the laid back café Noorderlicht with beautiful views over the IJ. Every year the Stubnitz ship, a cultural stage for music and live preformances, visits Amsterdam NDSM for about 2 months. During this time they have a packed program with music and parties.
