De Kring is an association of art lovers, a contemporary club with a bar, restaurant and lounge but also offers exhibitions, performances and dance parties. Every first Saturday De Kring hosts, Cirque Excentrique from 23:00 - 04:00, this is my favourite place! It's a gathering of artists, Amsterdam's eccentric and even your favourite Dutch soap star, and it’s always a happy crowd and a great atmosphere. At the entrance your face gets painted, behind this 'mask' I love the feeling of not being yourself for one night. The entrance is hard to find, just off Leidseplein on the Kleine Gartmanplantsoen 7-9.
